” It takes a village to raise a child” is a quote we hear often. When it comes to learning to count and read this saying is particularly relevant. These skills start from infancy when a child is spoken to, sung to, read to and nurtured by all the people they come into contact with. Counting and reading are made easy with these colourful children’s picture books.
My first book ‘Counting in the South Pacific’ is created to support numeracy using colourful images that children of our South Pacific communities are familiar with. Translations are included in the back in Maori, Fijian, Samoan and Tongan.
‘Counting in the South Pacific’ also includes an interactive ‘find the mosquito’ game throughout the pages.
